In a 3 1/2- to 4-quart cooker combine chicken, sweet potatoes, onion, garlic, coconut milk, tomato paste, ginger, marsala, turmeric, chili powder and salt. Cover and cook on low for 7 to 8 hours or high for 3 1/2 to 4 hours.
Before serving stir in ground almonds (or almond meal) and yogurt. Serve over hot cooked rice.
