Shrimp and scallops fry to a crisp, golden brown in only minutes with McCormick® Seafood Fry Mix.
Ingredients 6 Servings
- 3/4 cup McCormick® Seafood Fry Mix
- 3/4 pound sea scallops
- 3/4 pound medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- McCormick® Original Cocktail Sauce for Seafood, (optional)
- 1 Pour Fry Mix into plastic bag. Moisten seafood with water. Shake off excess. Coat seafood, several pieces at a time, evenly with Fry Mix. Let stand 5 minutes.
- 2 Pour oil into deep fryer or large heavy skillet, filling no more than 1/3 full. Heat to 375°F on medium heat.
- 3 Fry seafood, several pieces at a time, 3 to 5 minutes or until golden brown, turning once. Drain on paper towels. Serve with cocktail sauce, if desired.
