Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix flour, cinnamon, baking powder and salt in large bowl. Set aside.
Beat egg in medium bowl. Stir in applesauce, brown sugar, milk and oil. Add to flour mixture; stir just until moistened. (Batter will be lumpy.) Stir in 1/2 cup of the walnuts and raisins. Pour batter into 9x5-inch loaf pan sprayed with no stick cooking spray. Sprinkle top evenly with remaining 1/2 cup walnuts.
Bake 55 to 60 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove from pan; cool completely on wire rack.
The first loaf I made following the recipe exactly didn't turn out so great..It was too dry and the flavor was very bland..After reading some of the reviews I decided to try and tweak the recipe to my taste..Turned out great..I cut the cinnamon down to 2 tsp. Added 1 tsp. Nutmeg..Increased the oil to 1/2 cup for added moisture..Used only 1/2 cup milk but used 2 cups applesauce to compensate for moisture..Added 1 tsp. Vanilla for flavor..And used 1/2 cup white sugar and 1/2 cup brown sugar..I also added 2 eggs instead of 1..Then added all the rest of the ingredients as listed..This loaf turned out so much better and was delicious..Have made it several times since then and it doesn't last long at my home...

Very good! I used the advice of previous reviewers and used half the cinnamon, especially since I made homemade applesauce which had a good bit of cinnamon in it. Turned out great. I omitted the raisins. It was very moist and great as a breakfast bread.

It was moist but had too much cinnamon. Maybe it should read teaspoons.
