INSTRUCTIONS

  • 1 Fill tall (about 12-ounce) beverage glass with ice. Set aside. Fill cocktail shaker with ice. Add orange juice, grenadine, fernet and cayenne pepper. Stir well.
  • 2 Strain cocktail into prepared glass. Add orange and lemon-lime soda. Garnish with cucumber ribbons, citrus wedges and fresh mint leaves to serve.

Test Kitchen Tip: Fernet is an aromatic Italian liqueur, classified as a bitter or amaro. Bitters are made with a combination of herbs, spices and other natural additives and known for their ability to settle the stomach and impart complex, herbaceous flavor into cocktails, coffee or even soda. If you don’t have fernet, you can certainly swap in your favorite bitters, such as Angostura® or the like.
