Bring honey, water, lemon peel and spices to boil in medium saucepan. Add figs; cover and simmer 7 minutes. Cool to room temperature
Serve figs with syrup as a topping for ice cream, on a cheese plate, as an appetizer or a side dish.
I've made this recipe before and loved it. I've also used apples and raisins and served this with pork chops and mac-n-cheese. Very simple and delicious.
