why use beef for pulled pork? I would use a pork butt.

We followed the recipe exactly, but sorry to say, we didn't like this at all. The flavoring/spices in the packet had an odd smell beginning about an hour into the cooking time and tasted exactly as it smelled when done. I'm not sure if it was that the packet was designed for pork or something else, but it didn't smell or taste like BBQ sauce. The advice another reviewer gave about reducing the liquid was terrific, and if the taste was what we wanted, we would have been all set. As it was, we had to add some bottled BBQ sauce to try and "fix" the flavor. I won't be making this again.

After removing the meat from the slow cooker, pour the liquid into a large skillet and boil the mixure to allow it to reduce and thicken. Combine it with the shredded meat.
