It’s time to expand your burger horizons and this is the place to start! A perfectly grilled patty, seasoned with McCormick® Grill Mates® Cracked Pepper and Garlic with Sea Salt is the star of the show, but the supporting acts are just as good. Sweet, caramelized onions balance the peppery arugula, and creamy tzatziki is the perfect sauce to top the crunchy prosciutto (move over bacon, crispy prosciutto is key here). Whether you make this burger in the summer or not, it's here to stay! Recipe and Photo Credit:  @maxthemeatguy on TikTok & @maxthemeatguy on Instagram.

INSTRUCTIONS

  • 1 To Caramelize the Onions: Place a pan over medium heat. Add a drizzle of olive oil; add the prosciutto slices. Flip occasionally and remove once crispy. Save the pan and the drippings for the next step.
  • 2 Add onion to your pan. Cook the onions for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally to make sure they don’t burn. Once the onions become soft and start to caramelize, season with a sprinkle of Cracked Pepper and Garlic Seasoning and add the balsamic vinegar. Mix and cook together for a couple more minutes. Remove from the heat.
  • 3 Meanwhile, separate beef into four 6-ounce portions. Gently form into patties that are 1/2-inch wider than your bun. Press a dimple into the center of each patty. Season patties on both sides with Cracked Pepper and Garlic Seasoning.
  • 4 Place on grill over medium-high heat. Grill 6 to 8 minutes, flipping occasionally and topping with mozzarella cheese during last few minutes of cooking. Remove from grill when cheese is melty and burger is desired doneness. (The USDA recommends cooking ground beef to 160°F for food safety.)
  • 5 Make the Tzatziki Sauce: Combine all ingredients in a small bowl. Mix well and set aside.
  • 6 Assemble your Burger: Add a spoonful of the Tzatziki Sauce to bottom half of bun, add arugula and drizzle with balsamic glaze. Add a thick slice of tomato and sprinkle with Cracked Pepper and Garlic Seasoning. Add the burger patty, some of the caramelized onions, add 2 slices of the crispy prosciutto. Add a spoonful of Tzatziki to the toasted top bun and top the burger with it. Enjoy!
