Blood Orange, Beet, and Cardamom Sipping Sour

This sipping sour is great to sip on its own or used as a mixer for light, refreshing cocktails.

Ingredients

  • 1 quart distilled water
  • 2 cups red beets, peeled, grated
  • 2 each blood oranges juice and peel
  • 1/4 cup ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoon honey
  • 1 each Cinnamon Sticks, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon Cardamom, Ground
  • 1 teaspoon McCormick Culinary Allspice, Ground
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper, Cracked Cracked
  • 1 teaspoon Cloves, Ground
  • 1/2 teaspoon himalayan pink sea salt

  1. In a pot over medium-high heat combine water, beets, blood orange juice and peels, ginger, vinegar, honey, cinnamon stick, cardamom, allspice, black pepper, and cloves. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat and cool completely. Sour can be strained at this point or held with fruit and strained for service. Hold refrigerated until needed.
