Saffron Lemon, Golden Beet, Juniper, Sipping Sour

This sipping sour is great to sip on its own or used as a mixer for light, refreshing cocktails.

Ingredients

  • 1 quart distilled water
  • 4 each meyer lemon juice and peel
  • 2 cups gold beets, peeled, grated
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 10 each, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon Cardamom, ground
  • 1/2 teaspoon himalayan pink sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon saffron

  1. In a pot over medium-high heat combine water, meyer lemon juice and peels, beets, vinegar, honey, juinper berries, cardamom, salt, and saffron. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat and cool completely. Sour can be strained at this point or held with fruit and strained for service. Hold refrigerated until needed.
