What is butter chicken? Butter chicken is one of the most popular curries you can find at any Indian restaurant. It originates from northern India created in 1948 by chef and restaurateur Kundan Lal Gujral. It is a mix of spices, tomatoes, chicken and of course butter.
There are several ways to make Indian butter chicken but for this recipe, we start by first making rice. How do you cook rice? You need to first rinse the rice of the excess starch and then add to a pot of water or rice cooker. You can also serve butter chicken with naan.
Make the butter chicken sauce by first roasting the sauce and then adding the additional ingredients to a pan and then blending to make it smooth.
