McCormick® Ground Turmeric

Turmeric is the ground rhizome (or root) of the herbaceous, tropical plant, Curcuma longa L. of the ginger family. The rhizomes have a characteristic, peppery, spicy aroma and a bitter, pungent taste. The essential constituent of turmeric is cucurmin, which provides the yellow color and many benefits.

“Great in rice or eggs! Reminded me of subtle flavors from the Middle East. Also, Turmeric seems to be increasingly popular among health magazines, so it makes me feel good about including it in my foods.”

  • This product is an example of what distinguishes McCormick. Buy inexpensive bulk turmeric and buy McCormick, smell one, smell the other. The difference is not only a matter of potency- after smelling the McCormink, the inexpensive kind, when it has any smell at all, is often unrecognizable as being of the same family at all.
