Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup chopped green bell pepper
- 3 1/2 cups water
- 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 cup Zatarain's® Cajun Hot Sauce
- 1 package (16 ounces) penne pasta
- 1 package (14 ounces) Zatarain’s® Andouille Smoked Sausage, sliced 1/4-inch thick
- 2 cups shredded provolone cheese
INSTRUCTIONS
- 1 Preheat oven to 375°F. Melt butter in large saucepan on medium heat. Add onion and bell pepper; cook and stir 5 minutes or until vegetables are tender-crisp.
- 2 Stir in water, tomatoes and hot sauce. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low; simmer 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in pasta and sausage. Pour mixture into 13x9-inch baking dish. Cover with foil.
- 3 Bake 40 minutes, stirring halfway through cooking. Remove foil. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake, uncovered, 5 minutes longer or until cheese is melted. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
