Instructions
Procedure
- Fill 2 large wine glasses 3/4 of the way full with ice (see tip below!). Add 1 1/2 ounces elderflower liqueur, 2 ounces pomegranate juice, and 1/2 teaspoon extract to each glass, stirring to mix well.
- Add 4 ounces sparkling rose to each glass. Garnish with mint leaves and pomegranate arils, if desired.
Test Kitchen Tips:
- Make a ‘bloody’ rim for your spritz. Place 1/2 cup pomegranate juice and 10 tablespoons granulated sugar in a small saucepan. Bring to simmer on medium heat, stirring to dissolve sugar. Simmer 6 to 8 minutes or until syrup is thick enough to coat the back of a spoon. Remove from heat. Cool completely then use to rim glasses, allowing to drip down the side of the glass. Store remaining syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Use in place of grenadine to make cocktails and mocktails.
- Make spooky ice cubes, if desired. Place blueberries or pomegranate arils in small round ice cube trays. Fill with pomegranate juice and freeze until ready to serve. As the ice cubes melt, they’ll look like eyeballs!
Mocktail version: Pomegranate juice + elderflower syrup + sparkling white grape juice or soda!
