  • 1 tablespoon salted butter
  • 1 cup steel-cut oats
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup half-and-half
  • 1/4 cup plus 1 tbsp. McCormick® Maple Brown Sugar Finishing Sugar, divided, plus more for sprinkling
  • 1 medium apple, peeled, cored and chopped, such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp
  • 1 ripe pear, peeled, cored and chopped
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • Toasted pecans (optional)
  • Toasted coconut (optional)

  1. Melt butter in medium saucepan on medium-high heat. Add oats; cook and stir about 3 minutes or until fragrant and toasty. Stir in water and salt; bring to boil.
  2. Reduce heat to simmer. Stir in half-and-half and 1/4 cup of the Maple Brown Sugar. Cover. Remove from heat and cool slightly. Refrigerate overnight (about 8 to 10 hours).
  3. When ready to serve, mix apple, pear and remaining 1 tablespoon Sugar. If desired, reheat oatmeal on the stovetop on medium-low heat or microwave. Divide oatmeal into serving bowls or jars and top with apple mixture, cranberries, pecans and toasted coconut to serve. Sprinkle with additional Finishing Sugar, if desired.
