If Stubb’s Chicken Rub is unavailable in your area, substitute with 2 teaspoons thyme, 2 teaspoons garlic powder, ½ teaspoon ground mustard, 1 teaspoon sugar and salt and pepper to taste.

- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 2 pound 90% Lean Ground Beef
- 4 tablespoon Stubb’s Chicken Spice Rub*
- 1/2 yellow onion, diced
- 2 cup Stubb's® Smokey Mesquite Barbecue Sauce
- 1 15 oz. can diced tomatoes
- 1 8 oz. can tomato paste
- 1 15 oz. can tomato sauce
- 1 pound gluten free ziti or penne pasta
- 1/2 pound grated smoked mozzarella
- Pinch of salt
INSTRUCTIONS
- 1 In a large stock pot boil water with a pinch of salt. Once boiling, add in pasta and cook until pasta is cooked all the way through. Once cooked, drain and set aside.
- 2 Add olive oil, ground beef, and diced onion to a skillet. Season with 1 tablespoon of chicken rub. Cook over medium high heat until meat is browned. Add tomato sauce, diced tomato, tomato paste, and barbecue sauce. Bring to a slow simmer and add in 3 tablespoons of chicken rub. Stir and let simmer for 5 minutes.
- 3 Combine the sauce and pasta in a large casserole dish and mix. Top with shredded cheese and bake at 350°F for 20 minutes.
