Instructions
- Mix flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt in medium bowl. Set aside. Beat 1 1/2 cups of the sugar, butter and shortening in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add eggs and Ube Extract; mix well. Gradually beat in flour mixture on low speed until well mixed. Shape dough into a large flat disc. Wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate 1 hour or until firm.
- Preheat oven to 325°F. Mix remaining 1/4 cup sugar and OLD BAY Seasoning; set aside. Place dough on generously floured work surface. Roll out to 1/4-inch thickness. Punch dough using football-shaped cookie cutter, rerolling scraps as needed. Place on ungreased baking sheets. Sprinkle evenly with OLD BAY-sugar mixture.
- Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned around the edges. Cool on baking sheets 1 minute. Remove to wire racks; cool completely. Decorate cooled cookies as desired, using white icing to draw laces.
