Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, bring water and spices to a boil. Add tea bags and reduce to a gentle simmer. Allow to simmer and steep 5 to 7 minutes.
  2. Stir in milk and sugar. Return to simmer (but do not boil). Simmer 2 to 3 minutes longer.
  3. Remove tea bags. Strain mixture through fine mesh sieve lined with double layer of cheese cloth. Stir in vanilla, whisking vigorously to blend flavors and froth (or use a frother for the best foam). Pour into mugs to serve. Garnish with cinnamon stick if desired.
