  1. Place butter in small saucepan on medium heat. Stir frequently until completely melted. Increase heat to medium-high. Cook, stirring frequently, until milk solids are well browned and butter has a nutty fragrance. Remove from heat immediately when no longer foamy. Whisk in vodka; add 1 cinnamon stick and peppercorns. Let stand 15 minutes. Transfer to clean glass jar or large measuring cup. Place in freezer for 1 hour.
  2. Strain butter washed-vodka mixture through fine mesh sieve lined with cheesecloth into cocktail shaker filled with ice. Add vermouth. Shake vigorously until well mixed and chilled
  3. Mix cracked black pepper and demerara sugar in small shallow dish. Brush rims of 6 rocks glasses with maple syrup. Dip in sugar mixture to coat. Fill glasses with ice. 
  4. Strain cocktail glasses. Garnish with cinnamon sticks. Sprinkle lightly with McCormick Gourmet™ Cracked Black Pepper to serve, if desired.
