Slow Cooker Beef Stew

For an easy-to-prepare meal, use McCormick® Beef Stew Seasoning with beef cubes and vegetables in your slow cooker. The beef is deliciously tender and the vegetables are infused with a wonderful beef flavor.

  • Mix vegetables, water and Seasoning Mix in slow cooker.

  • Coat beef with flour. Stir into ingredients in slow cooker. Cover.

  • Cook 8 hours on LOW or 5 hours on HIGH until beef is tender.

Cooking tip

Test Kitchen Tip: For a shorter cook time, more flavor and more tender beef, brown flour-coated beef in 2 tablespoons oil on medium-high heat in large skillet. Drain, if needed. Stir browned beef into remaining ingredients in slow cooker. Cook 4 hours on HIGH.

 

Slow Cooker Tip: For best results, do not remove cover during cooking.

    Great recipe! I added some wine with the water and salt and pepper in the flour. Before serving I added mushrooms and peas. Since I didn't have celery on hand, I used celery flakes. Everyone just loved this stew and it will be a staple during the winter!

    Stumbled on the recipe in Wal-Mart. On the back of the seasoning it doesn't say add flour. I love the recipe!!!! This will be permanent rotation this winter!!!!
