  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 small onion, diced
  • 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 packet McCormick® Chili Seasoning Mix
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 ounces) can chili beans
  • 1 can (15 ounces) kidney beans, drained
  • 1 can diced green chiles or jalapeños
  • Tortilla chips
  • 2–3 cups shredded cheese, such as Cheddar or Mexican blend
  • Sour cream, for garnish
  • Additional diced chiles or jalapeños, for garnish

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Brown meat in large skillet on medium-high heat. Add onions and cook 4 minutes until onions softened. Add garlic and cook 1 minutes until fragrant.
  2. Stir in Seasoning Mix, diced tomatoes, bean and chiles. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat.

    Tip: Let chili simmer for up to 1 hour to thicken and for flavors to develop.

  3. Arrange tortilla chips in single layer on large shallow foil-lined baking pan, spreading to cover pan completely. Top chips with meat mixture. Sprinkle evenly with cheese. Repeat for 2 to 3 layers.
  4. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until cheese is melted. Top with sour cream and additional diced chiles, if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!
