Char Siu Pork

Try your hand at Chinese BBQ with this recipe for Char Siu Pork. It’s a classic Asian dish that brings sticky-sweet and savory flavor to every bite. Mix the pure flavor of McCormick® ginger, cinnamon and crushed red pepper with ketchup, brown sugar and soy sauce for an easy 15-minute marinade. After baking pork, brush with extra marinade and broil until it’s lightly charred … and ready to devour.

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix all ingredients, except pork, in small bowl until well blended. Reserve 2 tablespoons for brushing.

  • Place pork in large resealable plastic bag or glass dish. Add remaining marinade; turn to coat well. Refrigerate 15 minutes or longer for extra flavor. Remove pork from marinade into shallow baking pan. Discard any remaining marinade.

  • Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until desired doneness. Remove from oven. Brush pork with reserved marinade. Broil 5 to 10 minutes or until pork is lightly charred.
