Taco Meatball Subs

Meatball subs make great football party food. Prepare taco meatballs; then transfer to a slow cooker set on low so they stay warm throughout the party. Add a basket of rolls and some chips, and you’re good to go.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon plain dry bread crumbs
  • 1 package Lawry's® Taco Seasoning Mix
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 8 (6-inch) submarine rolls, toasted
  • 8 lettuce leaves

INSTRUCTIONS

  • 1 Mix ground beef, bread crumbs and 1 tablespoon of the Taco Seasoning Mix in medium bowl until well blended. Shape into 24 meatballs.
  • 2 Heat oil in large nonstick skillet on medium-high heat. Brown meatballs; drain fat. Stir in tomato sauce and remaining Taco Seasoning Mix. Bring to boil on high heat. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • 3 To serve, line rolls with lettuce. Top with meatballs. Top with assorted toppings, if desired.
