Sesame seed is the clean, dried seed of Sesamum indicum L. The slightly hard, flat, oval, small, smooth and shiny, dehulled, creamy-white seeds have a nutlike odor and an agreeable nutty taste. The sesame seed plant is an annual herb having an oblong shaped pod, containing the small, creamy-white seeds, varying in size up to 3.5 mm (1/8 inch)
Toast 1 tbsp. Sesame Seed in small skillet until lightly golden*. Mix with 1/4 cup soy sauce, 1 tbsp. each oil and brown sugar, 1 tsp. Onion Powder, and 1/4 tsp. each Garlic Powder, Ground Ginger and Ground Black Pepper. Add 1 1/2 lbs. boneless beef sirloin; coat well. Refrigerate 30 minutes. Grill to desired doneness.
*To toast Sesame Seeds – heat small skillet on medium heat. Add sesame seed; cook and stir 2 minutes or until golden brown and fragrant. Immediately pour out of the hot pan to avoid over toasting.
