Sake Miso Marinated Steak with Peppercorn Dipping Sauce

Steak gets Japanese-inspired flavor when marinated in a mixture of miso, sake and soy sauce. Peppercorn Mélange adds eye-catching heat to the dipping sauce.

Ingredients

  • Sake Miso Marinated Steak
  • 1/4 cup miso
  • 1/4 cup sake, (Japanese rice wine)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon McCormick Gourmet™ Organic Peppercorn Melange, crushed
  • 1 1/2 pounds New York strips steaks, 3/4-inch thick
  • Peppercorn Dipping Sauce
  • 1/3 cup sake
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon McCormick Gourmet™ Organic Peppercorn Melange, crushed
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced green onions

INSTRUCTIONS

  • 1 For the Steak, mix all ingredients except steaks in small bowl. Place steaks in large resealable plastic bag or glass dish. Add marinade; turn to coat well. Refrigerate 1 to 2 hours. Remove steaks from marinade. Discard any remaining marinade
  • 2 Meanwhile, for the Dipping Sauce, mix sake, soy sauce, honey and crushed peppercorn mélange in small bowl. Stir in green onions. Set aside
  • 3 Grill steaks over medium-high heat 6 to 8 minutes per side or until desired doneness. Slice steaks and serve with warmed Dipping Sauce
