Serve the sweet-tart strawberries in dessert dishes or spoon over pound cake or over ice cream.
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon coarsely ground McCormick Gourmet™ Black Peppercorns, Whole Tellicherry
4 cups sliced strawberries
Mix sugar, balsamic vinegar and cornstarch in small saucepan. Bring to boil on medium heat, stirring frequently. Stir in pepper. Reduce heat to low; simmer 2 minutes or until syrup begins to thicken.
Divide strawberries among dessert dishes. Drizzle syrup over top.
Test Kitchen Tip: Stir 1/2 teaspoon freshly grated orange or lemon peel into syrup during last 2 minutes of cooking.
