To prepare chicken: Preheat oven to 400°F. In a small bowl, stir together ginger, lemon juice, curry powder, garlic, salt, cinnamon and cayenne. Place chicken in a baking dish, flesh-side up; rub ginger-curry mixture over the top of each piece. Bake for 40 minutes or until the internal temperature registers 170°F on an instant-read thermometer.
Meanwhile, prepare lentils: Heat oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add onion and garlic and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in water, lentils, ginger, curry powder and salt. Simmer, covered, over medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in chard and simmer 5 minutes more.
Serve chicken with lentils.
