Preheat oven to 350°F. In a medium saucepan, bring milk and butter to a boil. Slowly stir in oats. Stir in apricots, cherries, raisins, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, vanilla and salt. Cook and stir for 1 minute. Pour into a lightly greased 1 1/2-quart casserole.
Bake, uncovered, for 15 minutes. Sprinkle with the remaining 2 tablespoons brown sugar and the nuts. Bake about 5 minutes more or until bubbly. Cool slightly. If desired, serve with additional dried fruit and milk.
