Preheat oven to 350°F. In a small saucepan combine pears, brown sugar, cinnamon and lemon juice. Cook and stir over medium heat about 5 minutes or until pears are soft.
Stir together cornstarch and cold water; stir into pear mixture. Cook 2 to 3 minutes or until thickened.
While pears are cooking, place phyllo shells on a baking sheet.
Scoop 1/2 tablespoon of the pear mixture into each phyllo shell. Bake 5 minutes. If desired, top each snacker with a few almond slices.
