In a blender, combine avocado, milk and sugar. Cover and blend until very smooth. Pour mixture into a 2-quart square baking dish. Stir in lime zest, lime juice, honey and ginger. Cover and freeze for at least 6 hours or until firm, stirring occasionally so mixture freezes evenly.
To serve, let stand at room temperature for 15 minutes. Using a fork, scrape over the top of the frozen mixture; divide scraped mixture among eight serving bowls. If desired, garnish with pita chips.
