Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a 2-quart rectangular baking dish; set aside. In a large skillet, cook ground meat, mushrooms, pepper, onion and garlic over medium-high heat until meat is browned, using a wooden spoon to break up meat as it cooks. Drain off fat. Stir in marinara sauce, 1 cup cheese, oregano, basil and, if desired, cayenne. Transfer to the prepared baking dish.
Top meat mixture in baking dish with pizza dough, sealing dough to edges of baking dish. Sprinkle with the remaining 1/2 cup cheese. Bake, uncovered, for 20 to 25 minutes or until dough is golden brown. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
