In a large saucepan, combine onion, bourbon and garlic. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Cook, uncovered, about 6 minutes or until onion is tender and about half of the bourbon has evaporated. Stir in ketchup, molasses, vinegar, Worcestershire, tomato paste, liquid smoke, salt, black pepper and crushed red pepper. Bring to a boil; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, for 20 minutes or until desired consistency.
