Preheat oven to 450°F. Lightly grease a 15-by-10-inch baking pan. In the prepared pan, combine broccoli and shallots. In a small bowl, combine oil, thyme, salt and pepper. Drizzle oil mixture over broccoli and shallots; toss gently to coat.
Roast, uncovered, for 10 minutes, stirring once. Stir in tomatoes and garlic. Roast, uncovered, for 5 to 10 minutes more or until broccoli is crisp-tender and tomatoes are soft. Sprinkle each serving with cheese.
