In a 3 1/2- or 4-quart slow cooker combine wine, apple cider (or apple juice) and honey. For a spice bag, place ginger, allspice and cardamom in the center of a double-thick, 6-inch square of 100-percent-cotton cheesecloth. Bring up corners; tie closed with clean kitchen string. Add spice bag to mixture in slow cooker.
Cover and cook on Low for 3 to 4 hours or on High for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. (Do not boil.) Stir in Calvados. If desired, garnish drinks with cinnamon sticks and apple slices.
