Preheat oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a 2-quart square baking dish or four 16-ounce individual casserole dishes; set aside. In a large saucepan, combine beef tips with gravy, vegetables, soup, Worcestershire sauce, onion, thyme and pepper. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Transfer to prepared baking dish or dishes.
Place potatoes in a large bowl, stir until nearly smooth. Spoon potatoes into 6 mounds on top of meat mixture in rectangular baking dish or spoon a mound into each individual dish.
Bake, uncovered, for 20 to 25 minutes or until heated through and bubbly around edges. Sprinkle with cheese. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
