Steak and Potatoes

This is steak and potatoes my family’s way. My dad used to cook this for us all the time, because it calls for just a few ingredients and is filling. While my dad used to cook this the long way, and even added tomato sauce for a flavorful broth, I’ve found a way to still make it in less time with just as much flavor!

Prep time: 5 mins
Cook time: 15mins


2 large potatoes, peeled and diced (small cubes)
1 tbsp Lawry’s Seasoned Salt
1 lb thin sliced steak
½ an onion diced
½ a tomato diced
1 tbsp of vegetable oil

1. Season steak with Lawry’s Seasoned Salt and cut into small strips of meat
2. Sautee meat, onion, and tomato with vegetable oil at Medium-High heat
3. While meat browns, add potatoes to a microwave safe dish with ¼ cups of water. Cover with matching lid and microwave for 5-8 minutes.
4. Once potatoes are tender add to meat and fold in.
5. Cook for an additional 5 minutes or until meat is well done. 

TIP: Microwaving potatoes cuts cook time in half. They'll come out tender when a little water is added to the microwave-safe dish. Serve the meal with tortillas for scrumptious tacos or burritos!
