Baja Chipotle Turkey Pasta

Ingredients: One pound of ground turkey, egg noodles, 1 can of kidney beans, 1 bag of frozen peppers and 1 onion. 

Directions: Brown ground turkey and add 1/4 cup of Lawry’s Baja Chipotle Marinade. Add in a bag of frozen peppers and onions, and sauté until cooked. Add a drained and rinsed can of kidney beans and toss together. Place cooked egg noodles in 4 bowls, top with the Baja Chipotle turkey and serve. This meal serves a family of four for only $7.

Veggie Loaded Pasta Bowls

Ingredients: Purchase a box of rotelle pasta, 4 Roma tomatoes, 1 zucchini, 1 small onion, 1 green pepper, 1 yellow pepper and 16 ounces of baby portobello mushrooms. Grab a 6 ounce can of tomato paste and feel free to choose your favorite pasta from the grocery store. The secret ingredient? Lawry’s Original Style Spaghetti Sauce Mix. It has all the seasonings you’ll need to make the most delicious sauce while you’re away from home. 

Directions: Chop up the vegetables, follow the directions on the back of Lawry’s spaghetti sauce packet and add another 1/2 cup of water so your sauce doesn’t burn. Let it simmer in the slow cooker on low for 8 hours. 

TIP: Portobello mushrooms not in the budget? Purée a can of cannelini beans and mix into the sauce before serving. Total amount for this meal? Around $7!

Tuna Cakes with Black Bean and Corn Salsa 

Canned tuna, canned black beans and canned corn are pantry staples for families on a budget. This meal can be created with less than 8 dollars, and will be a crowd pleaser in your home. 

Ingredients: Purchase 4 cans of tuna, 2 cans of black beans, 2 cans of corn and 2 Roma tomatoes. Mix tuna with 1/4 cup breadcrumbs, 1 beaten egg, 1/2 teaspoon pepper and 2 tablespoons of Lawry’s Herb & Garlic Marinade. 

Directions: Make 8 patties. Mix together chopped Roma tomatoes, drained black beans, drained corn, 1 teaspoon black pepper and 1 tablespoon of Lawry’s Herb & Garlic Marinade. Brown the tuna cakes on each side in a greased sautée pan. 

TIP: To save even more on your grocery budget, purchase chunk light tuna instead of albacore.

Asian-Style Spaghetti and Meatballs 

Ingredients: A box of spaghetti, 2 carrots, onions or parsley to garnish, 80% lean ground beef Lawry’s Teriyaki Marinade.

Directions: Mix 1/4 cup of the marinade with a beaten egg, 1/4 cup breadcrumbs and 1 pound of ground beef, and form into meatballs. Turn your carrots into “ribbons” with a vegetable peeler, and cook your spaghetti. Brown meatballs in a sautée pan, then remove. Add 1/4 cup of Lawry’s Teriyaki marinade with 1/4 cup water, then sautée the spaghetti and carrots together in the sauce. Top with meatballs and garnish with parsley.

Mediterranean Chicken Wraps with Salad 

Grilled chicken recipes are not only a weekly staple in the summer, but all year round. Marinated chicken breasts can be transformed into cheap eats for lunch or dinner. This recipe grills the chicken right on your stovetop with a bit of Mediterranean flavor. 

Ingredients: You’ll need 4 chicken breasts, a package of feta cheese, sliced tomatoes, fresh spinach and tortillas. Grab a bag or two of salad mix from the store as an easy side dish. 

Directions: Marinate the chicken breast in Lawry’s Herb & Garlic Marinade. Grill chicken in your grill pan or cast iron skillet. Slice chicken on a bias (sharp angle), and evenly place inside 4 tortillas. Top with feta cheese, sliced tomatoes and spinach. With side salad, this meal will only cost you $14 and 20 minutes of your time.
