Use colored sugar to sprinkle on all your Valentine’s Day treats. Add anywhere from 1 to 50 drops of red food color for sugar that’s tinted from the palest cotton candy pink to rosy red.
Place sugar in large resealable plastic bag. Add drops red food color for desired red ombre color. (See tip for amounts.) Seal bag. Knead sugar until the color is evenly distributed. Spread colored sugar on large rimmed baking sheet.
Let stand 25 to 30 minutes or until sugar is dried. Store in airtight container.
Red Ombre Colors:
Cotton Candy: 1 drop
Petal Pink: 2 drops
Barely Blush: 5 drops
Coral Cascade: 15 drops
Rosy Red: 50 drops (2 teaspoons)
