Cuban Sandwich

Use leftover Pernil (Roast Pork Shoulder) to make this popular pressed sandwich. If you do not have a panini maker, it’s just as easy to prepare the sandwich in a skillet.

  • Preheat panini press while assembling panini. Spread mustard on bottom half of roll and mayonnaise on top half of roll. Layer roll with roast pork, ham, cheese and pickles. Butter bottom of sandwich and place on panini press. Butter top of sandwich. Close press

  • Cook 3 to 4 minutes or until bread is golden brown with grill marks and cheese is melted. Serve warm

Cooking tip

To Use a Skillet: Assemble sandwich as directed. Melt butter in skillet on medium-high heat. Add sandwich; cook 4 to 5 minutes per side or until bread is golden brown and cheese is melted. Press sandwich occasionally with a spatula to flatten slightly.
