Strawberries with Balsamic Syrup

Serve the sweet-tart strawberries in dessert dishes or spoon over pound cake or over ice cream.

  • Mix sugar, balsamic vinegar and cornstarch in small saucepan. Bring to boil on medium heat, stirring frequently. Stir in pepper. Reduce heat to low; simmer 2 minutes or until syrup begins to thicken

  • Divide strawberries among dessert dishes. Drizzle syrup over top

Test Kitchen Tip: Stir 1/2 teaspoon freshly grated orange or lemon peel into syrup during last 2 minutes of cooking.
