Bring sloppy joes back to the dinner table with this hearty filling of ground beef, Zatarain’s® Southern Barbecue Rice Mix, bell peppers and cheese served in hamburger rolls.
1 pound ground beef
1 1/2 cups water
1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
1 package ZATARAIN'S® Southern Barbecue Rice Mix
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
6 hamburger rolls, toasted
Cook ground beef in large skillet on medium-high heat 5 minutes or until no longer pink. Drain fat.
Stir water, tomato sauce, Rice Mix, onion, bell pepper and brown sugar into skillet. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 25 minutes or until rice is tender.
Sprinkle with cheese. Remove from heat. Let stand 5 minutes. Serve on hamburger rolls.
