Put the flavor of New Orleans on your table with this quick and easy seafood jambalaya recipe. Start with Cajun-seasoned shrimp and veggies, then stir in water and Zatarain’s Jambalaya Pasta Dinner Mix – a meal for the whole family. Sprinkle with parsley and serve in 30 minutes.
2 tablespoons butter, divided
1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup thinly sliced red bell pepper
2 cups water
1 package ZATARAIN'S® Jambalaya Pasta Dinner Mix
1/2 cup heavy cream
Melt 1 tablespoon of the butter in large skillet on medium-high heat. Add shrimp; cook and stir 3 minutes or just until shrimp turn pink. Remove from skillet. Melt remaining butter in skillet. Add onion and bell pepper; cook and stir 2 minutes or until vegetables begin to soften.
Stir in water and Pasta Dinner Mix. Bring to boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 10 minutes or until pasta is tender, stirring occasionally.
Stir in shrimp and cream; cook until heated through. Remove from heat. Let stand 5 minutes. Stir before serving.
Serving Suggestion: Before serving, sprinkle with 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, if desired.
