Fresh asparagus is accented by a perfectly flavored herb butter that is so easy to prepare.
1 pound asparagus, ends trimmed
1 teaspoon McCormick® Parsley Flakes
1/2 teaspoon McCormick® Basil Leaves
1/8 teaspoon McCormick® Black Pepper, Ground
3 tablespoons butter, melted
1 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
Cook asparagus in boiling water in large uncovered skillet on medium-high heat 5 minutes or until tender-crisp. Drain well. Place on serving dish.
Stir parsley, basil and pepper into melted butter. Pour over asparagus. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
Spring Thyme Asparagus: Use 1/2 teaspoon each McCormick® Garlic Powder and Thyme Leaves in place of the parsley and basil.
Herbed Green Beens: Use fresh green beans, stem ends snapped off, in place of the asparagus.
(Amount per serving)
Best asparagus I have made to date!! Forgot to put the parm cheese on it and though it would've been great with it, if you don't have it, it is perfectly delicious without it.
