Oregano, basil, Italian sausage and spaghetti sauce team up in this kid-friendly meal that adults will love, too. Melted mozzarella cheese creates the perfect topping. Photo credit: Amy Johnson from She Wears Many Hats.
8 ounces wagon wheel pasta
8 ounces Italian sausage
1 teaspoon McCormick® Onions, Minced
1/2 teaspoon McCormick® Basil Leaves
1/2 teaspoon McCormick® Oregano Leaves
1/4 teaspoon McCormick® Black Pepper, Ground
1 jar (24 ounces) spaghetti sauce
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, (8 ounces)
Preheat oven to 400°F. Cook pasta as directed on package. Drain well.
Meanwhile, break up Italian sausage in large skillet. Cook on medium heat 5 minutes or until cooked through. Drain fat.
Mix sausage, spaghetti sauce, onions, basil, oregano and pepper in 9-inch deep dish pie plate or 2 1/2-quart casserole. Add pasta; mix well. Sprinkle with mozzarella slices.
Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until cheese is melted and mixture is heated through.
Pepperoni Pizza Pot Pie: Prepare as directed, substituting 8 ounces pepperoni, cut into slices or chunks, for Italian sausage.
