Carnitas, literally "little eats", is pork shoulder which has been braised for several hours until tender, then shredded and cooked again until crisp. Make this deliciously easy version in less than 20 minutes.
1 tablespoon oil
1 pound boneless pork chops, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
1 package McCormick® Taco Seasoning Mix
1/2 cup water
12 corn tortillas
Heat oil in large skillet on medium heat. Add pork; cook and stir 3 to 5 minutes or until no longer pink.
Stir in Seasoning Mix and water. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low; simmer 5 to 7 minutes or until most of liquid is absorbed, stirring occasionally.
Spoon into warm tortillas or taco shells. Serve with desired toppings.
Test Kitchen Tip: Add assorted toppings, such as shredded cheese, salsa, guacamole, chopped cilantro or lime wedges.
(Amount per serving)
Didn't have any taco seasoning, so used chili seasoning. Yummm
