With a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg, this butter cookie becomes a holiday delight.
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 pinch salt
1 teaspoon McCormick® Cinnamon, Ground
1 teaspoon McCormick® Pure Vanilla Extract
1/4 teaspoon McCormick® Nutmeg, Ground
2 cups flour
Beat butter, granulated sugar, salt, egg, cinnamon, vanilla and nutmeg in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Gradually beat in flour on low speed until well mixed. Refrigerate 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 350°F. Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Place on ungreased baking sheets. Dip fork in confectioners’ sugar. Gently flatten cookies with fork.
Bake 12 minutes or until lightly browned around edges. Cool on baking sheets 1 minute. Remove to wire racks; cool completely.
(Amount per serving)
These were simple and turned out so pretty. A great cookie for fall/winter. If we make them at the holidays, I will sprinkle some red and green sugar with the confectioner's sugar. Very tasty!
