    These cookies remind me of my Grandmother. I have not had these since I was about 6 years old and Grandma used to have them made and ready for us when we'd go to visit. I never knew what made them taste so good. It was the Anise seed. There's no other flavor like it, and no cookies as good as these. (since my Grandmother is no longer alive to make hers) Great and easy recipe...going to start making them for my Grand babies :) longing to carry on the tradition.
