This is a hearty brown sauce flavored with mushrooms and wine.
USAGE
Total Time: 10 minutes
Makes 1¼ cups.
You Will Need
1 pkg. McCormick® Hunter Sauce Mix
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter
1 cup water
MELT butter in small saucepan on medium-low heat. Stir in water and Sauce Mix with whisk.
STIRRING frequently, cook on medium heat until sauce comes to boil. Reduce heat and simmer 2 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally.
Serve with poultry, pork or beef.
Creamy Hunter Sauce: Use 1/2 cup milk and 1/2 cup water.
Easy Beef Burgundy: Melt 2 tbsp. butter in large skillet on medium-high heat. Add 1 lb. thin beef strips; cook and stir 2 minutes or until no longer pink. Stir 2 tbsp. red wine, 1 cup water and Sauce Mix into beef. Bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer 2 minutes. Serve over noodles.
