USAGE
All You Need
3/4 cup ice cold water
1 egg
Vegetable Oil
COMBINE water, egg and Funnel Cake Mix. Stir until smooth. This is enough batter to make 9 (5-inch) funnel cakes.
HEAT 3/4" oil in skillet to 375° F. Pour batter through a funnel into oil in circular and zig zag motion. Avoid filling entire skillet, since batter expands as it cooks.
FRY 30 seconds or until edges are golden brown. Turn funnel cake over and fry 20 seconds longer. Use tongs to remove funnel cake from skillet. Repeat with remaining batter.
To Serve: Place funnel cakes on cooling rack or paper towels. Sprinkle tops with confectioners sugar. Also great topped with McCormick® Cinnamon or fresh strawberries and whipped cream.
Dessert Waffles
BLEND Funnel Cake Mix with 1 egg, ¼ cup oil and 2/3 cup water. Preheat waffle iron using oil if desired or necessary.
SPOON in batter; cook until golden brown, according to waffle iron directions.
SERVE with dessert syrups, sauces or fruit topping and whipped cream.
Apple Fritters
PEEL, core and slice 3 fresh apples into ¼" thick rings. Lightly coat rings in ¼ cup dry Funnel Cake Mix. Prepare remaining batter as above and add cinnamon to taste.
DIP apple rings in batter. Shake off excess and fry until golden-brown on both sides.
SPRINKLE with confectioner’s sugar.
Makes approximately 15-18 fritters.
