Cajun Seafood Fry Mix

Cajun Seafood Fry Mix has been prepared with true Cajun food lovers in mind. Our secret Cajun spice blend gives you the spicy taste of a traditional Louisiana fish fry. A special blend of flours completely coats your favorite seafood and seals in natural flavors for truly delicious fish and seafood.

USAGE

All You Need
1/2 cup Fry Mix
1 lb. Fish Fillets*
Water or Milk
Vegetable Oil


POUR Fry Mix into shallow dish or large plastic bag.  Moisten fish, cut into serving-size pieces, with water or milk.  Shake off excess. 
 
COAT fish, several pieces at a time, evenly with Fry Mix.  Let stand 5 minutes.  Discard any remaining Fry Mix.   Fry as directed below.


Deep Fry:  Pour oil into deep-fryer, large heavy skillet or saucepan, filling no more than 1/3 full.  Heat to 375°F on medium heat.  Carefully add fish, several pieces at a time, to hot oil.  Fry 3 to 5 minutes, turning once to brown evenly.  Fish is done when golden brown and fish flakes easily with a fork.  Drain on paper towels.


Oven Fry:  Cover bottom of shallow baking pan with melted butter.  Arrange fish in single layer in pan; turn to coat with butter. Bake in preheated 425ºF oven 10 to 20 minutes until golden brown around edges and fish flakes easily with a fork..


* Best with catfish, tilapia, flounder, trout or shrimp.

Use the entire package to coat 6 lbs. fish or 4 lbs. seafood.


Serve with McCormick® Cocktail Sauce or Tartar Sauce.


Cajun Pecan Catfish
1/2 cup Cajun Style Fry Mix
1/4 cup chopped pecans
Water or Milk
1 lb. catfish fillets
Vegetable oil  


Combine Fry Mix and pecans until mixed. Moisten fish with water or milk. Coat and deep-fry or oven-fry fish as directed above.  


Cajun Fried Shrimp

Moisten 1 lb. peeled and deveined shrimp with water or milk.   Coat shrimp with 1/2 cup McCormick® Cajun Fry Mix. Deep-fry 3 to 5 minutes.
