Black Peppercorns, Whole

Black Pepper comes from the dried, immature berries of Piper nigrum L. The deep brown to black, deep-set wrinkled berries, when ground have a characteristic, penetrating odor, and a hot, biting and very pungent taste.

USAGE
Peppered Italian Bread Dip

PLACE Whole Black Peppercorns in a pepper mill. Twist pepper mill 8 to 10 times over a small plate.

ADD 1/4 teaspoon Italian Seasoning. Season to taste with salt.

POUR 2 tablespoons olive oil over spices to cover center of plate. Gently swirl plate to moisten spices.

SERVE with crusty bread.
USAGE
Mix equal amounts Whole Allspice with Whole Black Peppercorns in a pepper mill to create your own special spice blend.
